Playback Theatre skills will be taught. The series will culminate in a performance in front of an invited audience integrating the forms that have been imparted with music, movement and creative ritual. This training is for actors, teachers, therapists or anyone interested in creating art from the specific and universal in our experience.
This training will provide participants with an experience of being in a drama therapy group. A variety of drama therapy techniques will be utilized, including improvisation, acting techniques, psychodrama, Playback Theatre and other action methods.
The experiential portion of the training will focus on the application of drama therapy as a powerful tool in working with individuals, couples and groups. The didactic portion of the training will offer a theoretical basis and rationale for the use of drama therapy in multiple clinical situations.

Adopted people often have complex feelings, identities and family relationships that are difficult to navigate. The primal wound of separation from the birth mother can result in grief, anger, abandonment, and longing. Relationships with the adopted family can bring gratitude and disappointment. There are few places where the diversity of these adoption experiences can be witnessed and held. Join us for a weekend of exploration and healing with prominent drama therapy and expressive arts facilitators. Autobiographical Therapeutic Performance is a form of theatre that gives you the opportunity to uncover and transform self-defeating “life scripts” through drama therapy processes.
